About Me
I am a cultural ecologist and conservationist focused on the dynamic relationship between human cultures and coastal and marine ecosystems.

With a decade of experience in environmental education, policy, and media, my work has often bridged the sciences and humanities. Part of that work has involved using my skills in writing, photography, digital media, and communications to produce content and curate educational forums to foster meaningful engagement with a range of environmental and social issues. This transdisciplinary approach to conservation and storytelling led me to create the Deep Water Initiative, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that used film and other forms of media to work with religious communities on climate change, ethics, and a broad range of social and ecological issues.
This website is dedicated to my photographic work, curated to highlight visual storytelling that supports environmental conservation. Through his lens, I aim document the lifeways, landscapes, and species that shape environments (not all salty!), with the goal of inspiring greater care, wonder, and protection for the place we call home.
